Walton Beach, Florida contracted with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to provide disaster relief services following the four hurricanes in 2004 as well as for 2005, 2006, 2008 Hurricane seasons. YOLANDA D. THOMAS SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT

The Yolanda Thomas Scholarship Endowment has been established through the Northwest Florida State College Foundation to assist an Okaloosa or Walton County student attending Northwest Florida State College on a full-time basis. The combined merit and need-based scholarship will be used to provide an annual tuition, books and fees award.  The recipient must show a high degree of motivation in pursuit of his/her education and participate in community service as a volunteer.  First preference will be given to an economically-disadvantaged female.
