Fred Thomas was born and raised in Chicago. He graduated from High School a year early due to accelerated learning and subsequently attended the University of Illinois, at Champaign-Urbana, graduating in 1985 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture. Upon graduation he attended Officer Training School to become an officer in the United States Air Force from 1985 to 1992 where he obtained the rank of Captain. He was honorably discharged in 1992. Fred continued his education and received his Master’s of Business Management Degree in 1992. Fred Thomas started ThomCo Enterprises Inc. in 1993 which is a multi-million dollar construction firm based in Ft Walton Beach Florida. ThomCo has divisions in Panama City, Tampa, Ft Walton Beach, Florida as well as Georgia and affiliations with firms in New York, Illinois, Alabama, and Texas. Fred Thomas is also the founder of the Yolanda D. Thomas Scholarship Foundation which provides scholarships to local underprivileged students at Okaloosa Walton College.

Responsible for all construction operations throughout the companies operating area to assure that staffing levels, Management Controls and Quality standards are maintained on all projects.
Career Highlights:Malcolm started his career with M.W. Kellogg as a piping draftsman in NYC. During summers, while studying at Bowling Green State University, he worked as a union Operating Engineer in New York City. Upon completing studies and an honorable discharge from the US Army in 1969 he worked for Turner Construction Company in increasing levels of responsibility; In Boston as a Field Engineer, Estimator, Project Superintendent; Wheeling W.V. as Construction Manager on a Countywide School rebuilding program and Wheeling Hospital; Cincinnati as Contract Manager and Business Development Manager; Washington DC as Director of Correctional Facilities for Turner Corporation and Project Executive responsible for more than $60 million of at-risk construction; In 1988 he was assigned to London, England as Managing Director of London Office w/ direct responsibility for more than $600 million of at-risk construction management and design build projects. 23 yrs later, in 1992, Malcolm moved to Atlanta to form the At-Risk Construction Management Division for Heery International. He built the operations to a level of more than $75 million annually. Work focused on K-12 school projects, design build projects for private and public clients, sports facilities and University work. He has been actively involved with numerous related trade associations as education / training manager and as a speaker or trainer. With the Associated Builders and Constructors of Georgia, Malcolm developed the position of Director for Business Development, for members who wanted to encourage B2B membership interaction. He has been a featured speaker at the AIA National Convention, with Trade Associations and has spoken out across the USA and Abroad on the Construction Management Concept for Quality Project Delivery. Over 25 years leadership, management and executive experience. Fifteen years teaching, leading, and facilitating Quality Improvement efforts, as well as planning and implementing major Strategic Planning exercises. Selected three times as a Secretary of the Air Force Unit Quality Award (Baldrige) examiner. Previously certified American Society for Quality Certified Quality Manager. Previously held adjunct management teaching positions with Central Texas and Los Angeles Metropolitan Colleges.

Over 25 plus years experience in the accounting field as well as 10 years accounting experience in the aerospace, construction, manufacturing, service and retail industries.
